The centre of Cusco is where most of the tourist hotels are located, and where visitors spend most of their time. The colonial centre is really not that large, and it would probably take 45 -60 minutes to walk from one side of the map to the other. Cusco’s Main Square – Plaza de Armas is the main focal point, and many bars, restaurants and shops are located on or close to the plaza. A taxi ride in this Cusco map will cost you S/. 2.50 – 3.00 ($1.00) so most hotels are easily accessible, even if a few blocks from the centre. Avoid hotels which are located outside of this map, including the districts of Wanchaq, San Sabastian and San Jeronimo. These districts are too far from the colonial centre, not overly attractive and at night time can be a little dangerous.
