Are there cinemas in Lima?

If you want a break from the hustle and bustle of Lima, why not head to the cinema and see the latest movie releases.

Lima is full of cinemas, and although not as fully developed as western counties, there are several large multi-screen cinema complexes dotted around the city. Luckily, most recently released films are shown in English with Spanish sub-titles. However, it is probably best to confirm that the language before purchasing your entrance tickets.

One of the easiest to find and best cinemas in Lima is located in the LarcoMar entertainments complex, in the district of Miraflores. This large modern cinema is located inside LarcoMar, and is surrounded by restaurants, bars, fast food joints and up-market shopping. The ticket booth is located away from the actual cinema in the centre of LarcoMar, and the screens are tucked away towards the back of the complex. This Lima cinema also features a 3D cinema, for the ultimate cinema experience. You can purchase soft drinks, ice creams, chocolates, and popcorn from their food counters located in the lobby.

If you are leaving the cinema late at night be aware of your surroundings. Although Miraflores considered a safe district, opportunist crime is still prevalent. Take a taxi to your hotel or lodgings, and keep your personal safety at the forefront of your mind!
