Overview

Café Inkaterra is an up-market riverside restaurant located on the outskirts of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). Set in a beautiful stone and adobe building with a tall triangular shaped moss-covered roof, Café Inkaterra is certainly the most charming building in the whole town. Forming part of the luxury Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel (located adjacent), Café Inkaterra is open daily to the public for lunch and dinner. The set menu (with several delicious options) includes entrees, main dishes and desserts, all which are priced individually. During peak times a reservation is recommended. Café Inkaterra also has three free internet stations that diners can use.

Our Thoughts

We really like Café Inkaterra. With a building reminiscent of something you might find in the snowy peaks of Austria and surrounded on both sides by the upper and lower train tracks of the village, the setting of Café Inkaterra is really charming, and totally different from the ramshackle concrete disorder of the rest of Machu Picchu Pueblo. As you would expect the food is tasty and well-cooked, and the service just right. The price is very good for the level of restaurant, perhaps even a bit of a bargain.  Drinks are not included within the menu, and are fairly expensive.
